5 Tips on Setting Boundaries (& Why It's Important!)
Alright friends.
I feel like I am always writing about health and wellness… and realized that dating/relationships is all part of that bubble. So, let’s get right into it.
I don’t know about you, but dating is tough. We go through cycles of men and women, repeating the same motions, and wonder why the outcome remains the same.
The truth is: everybody is playing the same subtle game.
I’ve been in the dating game since forever ago, and while it was all fun and games, I can’t help but wonder why things hardly seemed to work out in my favor. 50000 dating apps later, here I am still browsing the playing field. Something just doesn’t seem right.
Everyday I question, so what is the issue? Is it the mindset of our generation? Is it the ease of having people at your fingertips with just one swipe? Or sad to say, is it me?
I don’t want to boast, but I for one think that I have a pretty good head on my shoulders. I tend to put my career/education first, I try to stay active everyday, etc.
And then it hit me – you could be the juiciest peach in the world, but there’s always going to be somebody who doesn’t like peaches.
Despite my epiphany, I remained curious. I began people watching, admiring couples on IG, and told myself to be patient. After all, things usually happen when you least expect it… right?
I was browsing for dating apps one day (LOL, as if 5000 weren’t already enough) where I stumbled upon Juicebox.
I thought to myself, okay maybe I should really try to talk this out with a professional.
After all, when do I really have the time to look up life coaches, let alone make an appointment with one of them? If you know me, you know I’m not fond of options so when this app landed in the palm of my hand, I knew I had to jump at this opportunity.
We’re all on our phones downloading dating apps; why not look into coaching apps?
So what is Juicebox? It is a coaching app designed to give you personalized advice on how to tackle any dating/sex questions. Juicebox, to sum it up, has been a pretty interesting ride for me. It’s easily accessible and actually pretty fun because you get to browse other people’s questions and some may even relate to yours.
I started out the trial with my coach Kelsey who gave me pretty good insight.
The moment I was paired up with her, I thought of the most “out there” questions to ask — questions I was either too shy or too afraid to ask people around me.
The comfort of having someone at your fingertips and just being able to ask anything and be truly open was fascinating to me. It allowed me to break some mental barriers because I wasn’t afraid of how these questions may shape me to appear. I was fearless and bold.
I also liked that it was personalized; one-on-one coaching is something I’m still very new to so this reassured me that my needs were met.
Additionally, the coaches here give you action-oriented results. You give them your goals, and they provide you with a plan (kinda like a workout plan, you know? You’re just working out your dating muscles ;D).
And for all my busy bees out there, the best part is the convenience of it all.
I mean, how often do we try to schedule that doctor appointment right when we get sick only to have availability weeks later? Or how about when we go into our appointment and not even displaying symptoms anymore?
Let’s be real, our emotional and physical needs are not scheduled.
So why should you have to schedule appointments when you access a coach privately from anywhere? The best part, it was judgment-free.
Dating can be tough. How else are we supposed to navigate this when we don’t have much of a support system? While dating has always been an interesting game, it has gotten more complex throughout the years based off these countless apps and social media basically paving the road for obscurities. Should dating even be this complicated?
Whether or not you’re in a relationship, you can use this app to your own personal needs. They will answer any question you may have on dating/relationships/sex. It’s essential a secret fb-type group… without having to use Facebook. Count me in for easy access, comfort, and support.
There are so many questions I am sure all of you have that you want answered, and I have no doubt the coaches over at Juicebox will provide you with some.
Be bold, be brave.
Technology plays such a pivotal role in our lives today; if you’re not into wasting commute time with a real life coach, consider using Juicebox.
Still not convinced? Mention “Shazie” or my blog post to get a free 5-day trial. There is zero risk here. What’s there to lose?
So next time you’re staying in watching RomComs and wonder “why not me?” consider using this app. It has been a huge game changer in my life.
