5 Tips on Setting Boundaries (& Why It's Important!)
I am so excited to interview Rachael Berthiaume of Planned in Pink. Like Kat, creator of Classically Katharine, we met at a blogging event in February for Galentine’s Day! Rachael is an ambassador for Bloggers Live Boston, an amazing girl gang responsible for all the blogging connections I’ve made here in the city! Rachael is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and she’s super creative with her content! Keep reading to learn all about my fav bullet journaling queen —
Tell us who you are and a little about your background!
Oh gosh, the question of “who am I” is so daunting, I’m definitely still trying to figure myself out. To dish out the basics, I’m Rachael! I’m 22, from a small town in central MA where I’ve lived my whole life. I grew up as a competitive dancer so I’ve always loved being active and have recently gotten into cooking as well!
I’m currently unemployed from Covid-19, but I can’t wait to go back to work. I’m the Sales Coordinator at the Southbridge Hotel and Conference Center where I book all of the wedding blocks. Then of course, blogging on the side!
What inspired you to get into the blogging space?
I’ve always loved to write. I used to write short stories as a teenager, and I wrote for the school newspaper in college. At one point I was certain I was going to be a journalist, but obviously that didn’t happen. My junior year of college, I also wrote casual articles for The Odyssey Online and was getting more into Pinterest and that is when I saw all these pins about blogging.
It’s been a long journey, but the more I looked into blogging the more I knew that it was something I had to pursue. I just recently rebranded my blog (with the help of Liv) and changed my name from Rachael Ruth to Planned in Pink. I am now focusing mostly on bullet journaling and social media content!

What does your morning routine look like?
Growing up I never had a morning routine, but now I’m religious about it and think everyone should have one! During quarantine I’ve decided to make a morning routine a priority so when I go back to work I won’t slack off.
Right when I wake up I brush my teeth, wash my face, all of that good stuff. Then I’ll make my bed and do 10 minutes of yoga. I’ve also recently started drinking warm water with lemon as the first thing I put into my body, but immediately after comes coffee. Lastly, I’ll exercise, do some light reading, and make breakfast. (Not necessarily in that order).
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
This is such a typical answer, but I have a twin sister! We are fraternal, so not super exciting, but people don’t even believe we are related. We were also born on our mother’s birthday, so June 11th is always a super fun day at my house. (Sorry dad!)
How do you balance work, relationships, blogging, etc?
Honestly, I don’t balance it well at all! I’m still trying to figure it all out but something that has helped me is delegating certain tasks to certain days. For example, I’ll write blog posts on Mondays and do my BuJo Monday videos on Sundays, so I don’t overwhelm myself. I also have multiple calendars because I’m always forgetting to do things!
I also really value quality time with my friends and family and traveling (near and far!) so I make time to create new experiences and memories outside of running the blog as often as I can.
