5 Tips on Setting Boundaries (& Why It's Important!)
#throwbackTUESDAY when we were all allowed to be out and about *crying emoji*
I started this post at 8:19pm last night sitting in silence on the couch pondering what snack to eat next. This is who I’ve become, and I’m not even mad about it? Haha, just trying to make the best of this situation. I wanted to share a few online courses that are now currently FREE in light of the pandemic. This post is for those who may have expressed interest in online courses before and just didn’t have the time/funds to do so.
I get it, online courses are an investment so when I found a few that are currently free, I had to share!
I’ve never really been into coding besides HTML for MySpace 😛 In grad school, I took a brief lesson on R and was like, okay never again. I’m just not really into it right now, but who knows maybe in the future? For those who are looking to add programming skills to their resume, there is a wide plethora of programming classes out there right now as part of their Free Code Camp! Classes include everything from Python to C Programming. Aside from coding, Free Code Camp is also offering 450 Ivy League courses ranging from business to social sciences to personal development.
Girls Who Code is also offering activities, so be sure to check them out 🙂
THIS one is my personal FAVORITE. I have always been a fan of the Clever Girls Know podcast since earlier this year. One of my goals in 2020 is to be more savvy with my finances. From improving my credit score to paying off my student loans or just figuring out this budget thing, this podcast has provided so much value so far so I KNEW I absolutely needed to “enroll” in these courses that are of no cost right now.
Some of their financial wellness courses include:
Right now, my goal is to clearly outline my financial goals and figure out this whole saving + emergency fund situation before learning about stock investment, but it’s nice knowing these easy-to-learn courses are available.
Okay, this has been all over social media but who knew Yale had a popular course called The Science of Well-Being? I didn’t. LOL. This class focuses on different challenges designed for you to increase your own happiness and how to build more productive habits. It was originally created to address students’ levels of depression, anxiety, and stress. It has become the most popular course in Yale’s history headlining national and international media. I know a few people currently enrolled, and they’re loving it so far! Coursera, the platform this class is on, also offers other classes for free, so be sure to check that out.
Mindbodygreen is also offering a free course “Decrease Stress, Balance Your Body & Break Through Negative Energy.” It really dives in the fundamentals, history, and evolution of Reiki healing and teaches you how to be more mindful of energy, so you can be more spiritually aligned. You’ll learn the four levels of Reiki training and the basics of chakras. Think of Netflix’s “You,” when Joe went through a Reiki specialist and started CRYING his eyes out. Remember that scene? Anyway, I’m adding this to my list bc I’ve been meaning to get more into spirituality.
Brit+Co is offering FREE courses until April 9th, so be sure to take advantage RIGHT NOW. Their fun classes include:
Use code SELFCARE to enroll between now and April 9th for FREEEE!
Here are some other links/accounts to check out for free or for affordable pricing:
And there you have it! Hope you enjoyed this post, and let me know if you decide to take one of these courses or if you have other recommendations.
As always, please note that you do NOT have to take up ANY courses if you don’t want to, it does not make you any less of a person. Everyone knows I’m all for taking breaks, so please do not feel like you have to continuously learn 24/7 🙂 Just wanted to share a few favs!
Have a wonderful week 🙂
