5 Tips on Setting Boundaries (& Why It's Important!)
Hey friends!
If you’ve been keeping up with my 10000 snaps and IG stories, you know I’ve been pretty involved in the NYC scene — as always. Last week, I managed to score a whole week’s worth of free workouts. Yup, here in the city.
Nope, not bizarre. Just me being my usual self looking up places and events on Facebook and Eventbrite. LOL, call me insane but hey, I’m extra *shrugs*
Tuesday
While I was waitlisted for Barre3’s pop-up class at the Gantry Loft, I left a comment on IG saying I was waitlisted… hours later, they took me off the waitlist and I showed up to Long Island City for a BOMB workout class.
Wow, this class is by far one of my favorite group-type classes. I’m mainly a gym/weights type of girl, but this class is a refreshing break. I highly recommend if you’re in the NYC/NJ area to check out their new location in LIC. They’re still giving free workouts this week, so be sure to check them out on Eventbrite AND shoot them a msg saying you’re waitlisted.
Every Tuesday, there are also FREE workout sessions in Meatpacking District. See the assortment of classes here and be sure to RSVP for some as classes are going until end of August! I plan on committing to 8pm classes after doing some lifting, so hope to see some of you there!
Thursday
Summers in the Square! It was my first time working out at Union Square. My best friend and I attended a HIIT Dance class taught by Bryan Davis from the New York Racquet Club. This class was super refreshing (although it got pretty awk with all that twerking in broad daylight amongst tourists!). I definitely loved his energy. I believe he has another class at Union Square in July, so be sure to check him out — amongst other instructors!!
Saturday
lululemon is hosting FREE yoga classes every Saturday in Long Island City. Check them out here!
There is literally a whole abundance of free workout classes on Eventbrite —
Summers are great for them especially since outdoor workouts are a thing. Be sure to check them out especially if you’re in the city for just the summer and don’t want to commit to a gym membership.
Other than that, if you have not been to Flywheel Sports, you should definitely try them out. Your first class is $15 BUT there is a code to get it for FREE. Use code FLYFREE.
There is a lot more out there, but I just wanted to share a few of what I found. I hope that this summer, you find happiness in taking these workout classes without any financial barriers. And for those not in the NYC/NJ area, I am sure there are options for you as well.
Eventbrite and Facebook are usually my go-tos! Instagram is also a great resource ESPECIALLY if you follow fitness influencers and/or instructors in your area 🙂
Happy Sweating, my loves!
