5 Tips on Setting Boundaries (& Why It's Important!)
Hi everyone!
I know it has OFFICIALLY been Fall for some time now (forgive me, I live in LA where the weather fluctuates as much as my emotions LOL), but HAPPY FALL! Here in LA, the leaves don’t change colors as much as I want them to, but hey, that shouldn’t mean I can’t have a Fall Bucket List, right?! I guess that’s motivation for me to move somewhere else in the country… just for this season though because we all know I cannot handle anything below 70 degrees!
My favorite part of Fall is not only the crisp cool air, but mostly its transition towards HOLIDAYS! I absolutely love Thanksgiving (minus the turkey). I really only live for mashed potatoes and pie (hello pumpkin overload!). With that said, since it’s my FIRST Fall that I’m out of school – yup, bye midterms/finals! – I can FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY enjoy all that Fall has to offer! Here is my Fall Bucket List that I would love to share (free download at the end of post!) and looking for some ideas from you as well!
In case you don’t already know, I’m OBSESSED with anything pumpkin. I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice lattes (soy/almond milk because you know, dairy isn’t my thing…), pumpkin costumes (I literally want to be a pumpkin every year but fail… miserably), etc. Ironically though, I have NEVER visited a pumpkin patch, and I have never carved a pumpkin. This Fall, I want to make it my MISSION to go to one since that’s probably the most “Fall” as it gets here.
I’ve been finding amazing photo backdrop opportunities. They’re mostly out of the city, but hey, I’m willing to travel just for these ops! I usually use social media (hashtags + geotags) to find out which surrounding areas offer that “leafy” effect.
I’m not a big fan of anything horror-related, but I am definitely a fan of trick-o-treatin’ (spoiler alert: I have never done that either, but I think I’m too old now…) and making the little ones happy. As a way to celebrate this tradition, I think making Trick-O-Treat or any type of goodie bags for the less fortunate is an amazing idea!! It’s a wonderful way to give back, and everyone knows I love and adore children so much. Why not dedicate just a few hours this weekend to make these goodie bags to give away? I found one of these events via Meetups, so they should have one in your area too. If not, you can always host one with some friends (and watch some good ol’ Halloween movies). Aside from Halloween, Thanksgiving is another way to give back – simply by getting involved at your local soup kitchen or helping cook dinner in a shelter. I remember waking up at 3am to cook for some families and while I admittedly hated it at the time, it was SO rewarding at the end. Fuzzy feelings work well in this weather 😉
